The York winery is essentially a family-run enterprise with Ravi Gurani, his father (Lilo Gurani), brother (Kailash Gurani), and brother-in-law (Ravi Shamdasani) all involved. The business includes a seven acre vineyard, where Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz grapes are grown for their Reserve wines. All other grapes are sourced from local farmers.
The modern winery has a capacity of ca 1 million litres and utilises stainless steel fermentation tanks. The Reserve wines are aged in French and American oak barrels for between 8-10 months. Attached to the winery is a popular tasting room with views over the estate.
Aside from their two Reserve varietals, York Wineries produce two whites (Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc), two reds (Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon) and a rose (Zinfandel) using grapes purchased from local farmers.
